Harriman Campus Redevelopment
Redevelopment of the 300-acre W. A. Harriman State Office Campus is part of the Albany Plan, a joint initiative of Governor Pataki and Mayor Jennings. The goal is to leverage the development opportunity to result in increased property tax revenues and attracting new business enterprises to the City of Albany.
With its proximity to the University at Albany research facilities and Albany NanoTech, the Harriman Campus provides an excellent opportunity for new development activity within the City of Albany that will generate private investment. In 2004, the Harriman Research and Technology Development Corporation (HRTDC) was formed to manage the redevelopment. HRTDC has retained a Market Assessment and Master Planning consultant to further refine the initial Redevelopment Strategy.
