Commission on Human Rights

The Commission on Human Rights has the responsibility of enforcing the City's Human Rights Ordinance and to monitor fair housing laws and policies.

This Commission consists of nine members serving staggered terms.  Members serve for one, two and three-year terms.  Members must reside in the City of Albany and posses a reputation for fairness, integrity and responsibility.  Officers and employees of the City of Albany are not eligible for appointment to the Commission on Human Rights.
