The Department of Fire, Emergency Services, Buildings and Codes has a twenty-seven million dollar budget. To carry out the functions of a modern fire department members are stationed at eight “firehouses” throughout the city. These stations are strategically located though out the twenty-seven square miles of the City of Albany.
