The Department of General Services oversees all maintenance and installation of light fixtures in the City of Albany. Currently in the city there are over 10,000 streetlights. They illuminate highways, streets, roadways, walkways, parks and parking lots. DGS works directly with Niagra Mohawk to ensure all street fixtures are working properly.

How The Service Is Obtained

This Service is automatically provided by DGS with support by Niagra Mohawk however if any individual should see a light that is in need of repair they should contact the Department of General Services at 434-2489.

Any Individual with a concern about street lighting should contact the Department of General Services at 434-CITY, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am to 5:00pm.
