The Great Albany Cleanup


The Great Albany Cleanup Volunteer Effort is an annual coordination
of events where the Department of General Services supports
volunteer community groups in organizing a cleanup or community
beautification event. Traditionally, these events are scheduled
throughout the entire spring season. The Department of General
Services provides resources to each community group to help enable
them to put on these types of events. For more information click here.

Mayor's Office of Energy & Sustainability 

The Mayor's Office of Energy & Sustainability was established by Mayor Jennings in 2010 to coordinate energy conservation and efficiency initiatives among the municipal departments and to drive community wide efforts to become a more livable and sustainable city.

The Albany 2030 Plan Adopted!

On Monday, April 2, the City of Albany Common Council voted unanimously to adopt the Albany 2030 Plan, officially establishing the first comprehensive plan in the City's 400 year history.  In a tremendous demonstration of collaboration, thousands of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and neighborhoods came together to build consensus about their local priorities.  Albany 2030 will greatly improve local quality of life for generations to come.

    The City of Albany requests proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide health benefits analysis and consulting services to the City of Albany. Copies of the RFP are available at the Department of Law, City Hall – Room 106, Albany, New York 12207or (518) 434-5050.

    The City of Albany was ranked #16 on the list of America's Greenest Cities for 2012. Albany has 47.4% of residents that are eco-conscious and 64.3% of residents that are recycling conscious.
  • The College of St. Rose: Public Access Workshops
    A partnership with Time Warner Cable, The New School of Interactive Media, Albany High School, and the City of Albany includes Video Production Workshops held at the William Randolph Hearst Center for Communications and Interactive Media (CCIM) at 996 Madison Ave in Albany, NY. These workshops are provided free of charge to Albany City Residents.
