ALBANY, NY – Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Department of General Services Commissioner Sergio Panunzio have announced that Capital Hills Golf Course will be closing for golf for the season. The last day of play will be Sunday, November 14, 2021. If you would like to book a tee time before the end of the season, please visit: Caphills.com

Mayor Sheehan said, “As we close out another successful season of golf at Capital Hills, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to have this beautiful amenity that offers top-tier golf at affordable rates for our residents, and serves as a year-round outdoor recreation facility that is people and dog friendly.”

When Capital Hills Golf Course is closed to golfing, the Albany municipal golf course is open from dawn until dusk as a dog park and for walkers and runners. Dog owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs and taking the proper precautions to ensure the dog’s good behavior while utilizing the golf course.

Martel’s Restaurant, located on the golf course grounds, remains open year round.  For hours and other restaurant details visit: MartelsRestaurant.com

During the winter, the course is also utilized for winter sports such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing and sledding.

“The Capital Hills at Albany golf course is the premiere golf course in the Capital District and it showed with the amount of play we saw this year” said Sergio Panunzio, Commissioner of DGS.

The 2021 season at Capital Hills was successful with 27,036 rounds of golf being played during 221 days of play.
