Luis Roldan

As a Planner with the Department, he's in a position to get experience doing “a little bit of everything,” he says. “I grew up in New York City and it gave me a perspective on how a city is set up and a perspective on how to change things for the better.”

Luis Roldan is currently finishing a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning from the University at Albany. His focus within the Master's program is community planning, which investigates urban life on a neighborhood scale.

Personal Life

In his free time, Luis is a street photographer. “It’s like environmental landscape photography, but in the city and with people,” Luis says. He also is engaged in community work, particularly human rights and civil rights advocacy.
