[ARCHIVED] ALBANY POLICE INVESTIGATING STATE STREET BANK ROBBERY

ALBANY, NY – Albany police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday afternoon on State Street.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to TD Bank, located at 125 State Street for reports of a robbery. Upon arrival, an employee told officers that a white male, approximately 5’10”, 130 pounds wearing dark colored clothing, approached the counter inside the bank and passed a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

Shortly after the incident, a man believed to be the suspect in the robbery was taken into custody on the New York State Thruway with the assistance of the New York State Police.   

At this time the investigation remains ongoing.
