Animal Control

Responsibilities

The Animal Control Unit is responsible for:

• Acting as a resource to patrol regarding animal complaints or maltreatment of all kinds
• Assisting officers in preparing for court
• Assisting patrol units when they encounter possible rabid animals
• Being on call 24 hours a day for dog complaints
• Responding to complaints in which dogs are:
  • Biting
  • Fighting
  • Off a leash
  • Treated poorly
  • Unlicensed
