ALBANY, NY— The City of Albany and St. Peter’s Health Partners with support from B95.5 FM Radio, Albany Institute of History & Art are proud to recognize compassionate Capital Region moms in the 22nd Annual Capital Region Mother of the Year Contest. The contest celebrates mothers who are committed to their families and communities while serving as positive role models and touching the lives of those around them.
Dozens of mothers were nominated this year, making the judging process difficult. Every nominee deserves congratulations. As some of the Capital Region’s most remarkable women, their love and devotion are appreciated by many.
The five finalists are Dorothy Brewer-Everett of Schenectady, nominated by her daughter Marshay Cherry; Holly Cheever of Voorheesville, nominated by her son Jesse Sommer; Quoida Lauzon of Schenectady, nominated by her friend Sierra Paradise; Esther Patterson of Albany, nominated by her daughter Arielle King; and Elizabeth Suarez, nominated by her daughter Marna Redding.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan will greet the five finalists in front of the Lake House in Washington Park on, Saturday, May 15th during the virtual Tulip Festival. The ceremony will take place at 11:00am where the Capital Region Mother of the Year winner, Holly Cheever was crowned.
