Lormenzo Jones

Common Council
Title: Ward 4 Representative

Lormenzo Jones is a proud graduate of Albany High School who continued his education in Culinary Arts at Sullivan County Community College and later took accounting courses at Albany Business College. He went on to serve his community with distinction for 22 years as an officer with the Albany County Sheriff’s Department of Corrections.

Throughout his career in corrections, Mr. Jones witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals cycling in and out of the criminal justice system. These experiences fueled his passion for community improvement, inspiring him to focus on combating food insecurity and expanding opportunities for youth and families in Albany’s Fourth Ward.

A devoted family man, Lormenzo has been married to his wife, Jackie, for 24 years, and together they share a blended family of five children. His dedication to family extends naturally into his service to the community.

As a Fourth Ward resident, Lormenzo is committed to being a strong and responsive voice for his neighbors. His priorities include public safety, quality of life, affordable housing, community planning, job and workforce development, youth engagement, and expanded community support systems. He believes in leadership that listens and leadership that cares.
