Deborah Rosen Zamer was born and raised in the City of Albany and is a product of the Albany City schools- School #16, Hackett Middle School and Albany High School. Deb lives in the Buckingham Pond neighborhood with her husband Josh and their two children, who attend the Albany City Schools. After graduating from SUNY Binghamton, Deb served over two years in the United States Peace Corps, as an English teacher in a rural village in Benin, West Africa. Upon her return to Albany, Deb earned a Masters in Social Work from SUNY Albany. Her professional background includes social work, government and real estate. Deb has always been active in local nonprofits including Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood and Jewish Family Services and is a member of Congregation Beth Emeth. Deb looks forward to serving the 14th ward where she was raised, and working collaboratively to strengthen our neighborhoods, our schools and our city as a whole.
