ALBANY, NY — The Albany Business Review published the news this morning that First Columbia, LLC is proposing to build a nine-story, Class A office building that will include a restaurant, apartments, and a plaza at 705 Broadway in Downtown Albany. Mayor Sheehan has released the following statement in support of this proposal:
"The proposed nine-story building at 705 Broadway is very welcome news for Downtown Albany and fills a crucial void in the full revitalization of Clinton Square. My team and I have been working closely with Kevin Bette and Frist Columbia for weeks on this proposal, and we are excited that we have reached this critical step in the planning process. Kevin's proposed investment that will include Class A office space, a restaurant, apartments, and a plaza will strongly compliment the tens of millions of dollars invested in Clinton Square on transformative projects like the Clinton Market Collective, Albany Skyway, revitalized Quackenbush Square, Common Roots Brewing Company, Industrie Apartments, and more. I am looking forward to seeing this project, along with its hundreds of jobs, continue to move forward."
