(Albany, NY) Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026 – Mayor Dr. Dorcey L. Applyrs has appointed Valerie Scott as Director of Buildings and Regulatory Compliance for the City of Albany.
Scott previously served as Deputy Director within the department, where she played a key role in day-to-day operations, code enforcement oversight, and advancing a more responsive, accountable regulatory process for residents and businesses. She currently serves as the President of the New York State Building Officials Conference.Her appointment reflects a commitment to continuity, institutional knowledge, and steady leadership.
