Hudson River Waterfront Gateways

gateways

Project Description

The project area is located at two main waterfront gateways: the intersections of Colonie Street and Quay Street and Broadway and Quay Street.

Working with our selected consultant, the Department will design and implement improvements in an effort to promote and enhance the connections between Downtown Albany, the Warehouse District, and the riverfront. Improving these gateway locations will provide riverfront users with clear direction to the riverfront and its many recreational assets from downtown Albany’s many businesses, and tourist attractions.  Improvements may include lighting displays, landscaping, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, and interpretive and/or wayfinding signage.

Funding for this project has been awarded through the New York State Department of State's Local Waterfront Revitalization Program under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.
