Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced nine City of Albany spray pads will open on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and also reminded residents of the various ways to keep cool during the current warm weather period. Mayor Sheehan also shared information on how to identify and respond to heat-related illnesses and the importance of staying hydrated.

With temperatures and humidity levels rising, it is important residents are aware of the various ways they can stay cool,” said Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan. “It is also important to remain hydrated, check in on elderly neighbors, and be able to recognize the signs of heat-related illnesses.

Should you or someone you know feel overcome by the heat, please move to a cool and shaded location and dial 911. Attached is a graphic from the National Weather Service with recommended ways to stay safe during the warm weather. During extended periods of warm weather, it is important to remain cool and hydrated, and be able to recognize the signs of heat-related illnesses. Nine City of Albany spray pads will be open Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to provide a fun way to find relief from the warm weather.

  • Colonie Street Park
    • Green area on bend near Livingston Avenue
  • Hackett Park
    • North First Street
  • North Swan Street Park
    • North Swan Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street
  • Ridgefield Park
    • 316 Partridge Street
  • Rosemont Park
    • 92 Rosemont Street
  • Sheridan Hollow Park
    • Sheridan Avenue and Dove Street
  • Swinburne Park
    • Clinton Avenue and Manning Boulevard
  • Westland Hills Park
    • Colvin Avenue between Central Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
  • Upper Lincoln Park
    • Morton Avenue and Delaware Avenue

Please note: the Black Lives Matter Park spray pad is currently in the process of being renovated and is scheduled to reopen later this month. The Krank Park spray pad is currently closed for repairs.
