[ARCHIVED] Reminder: Parking Will No Longer be Available in the Thurlow Terrace Parking Lot Beginning at 6 p.m.

Parking Restrictions Road Closures

Contact: David Galin

ALBANY, NY – Since Friday August 5, 2022, there have been various parking restrictions and road closures in effect to accommodate HBO filming of The Gilded Age in the City of Albany.

As of 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, the University at Albany Thurlow Terrace Parking Lot on Western Avenue between Englewood Place and Thurlow Terrace will no longer be accessible to the public and it will resume being available only to those with University-issued parking permits.

In an attempt to mitigate the impact on parking during filming, normal parking regulations will continue to be suspended for the duration of the filming in the affected areas, which includes from Quail Street to S. Swan Street and Washington Avenue to Madison Avenue, as well as all of Washington Park and Englewood Place. Move over (alternate side parking) and timed restrictions will NOT be in effect in the impacted areas.

Complete list of restrictions and closures including maps.

Emergency No Parking signs are and will continue to be posted in all of the impacted areas. Parking enforcement will continue for quality of life issues including but not limited to, vehicles blocking fire hydrants, crosswalks and no parking zones. Parking meters are in effect unless noted otherwise and residential parking permits will be in effect during this time.
