Overview
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) tracker was created to allow public transparency to monitor the status of the ARPA payments made on behalf of the City of Albany to sub-recipients who have been awarded ARPA funding.
The ARPA was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021. ARPA is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill enacted to speed up the country’s recovery from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and recession.
As a part of the ARPA, The City of Albany received $80 million. The City set aside $25 million for organizations (sub-recipients), including City of Albany departments, to fund local projects and programs that will support Albany's recovery and future progress. All payments to sub-recipients require approval from the Office of Audit and Control (OAC). Approval is given after confirmation that all requirements as stated in the contract between the City and respective sub-recipient are met.
