The South End Connector Phase II Improvements activates a half-mile portion of the multi-use path that adjoins the South End neighborhood, located underneath Interstate-787 between Church Street and the intersection of Broadway and Quay Street. The City conducted extensive public outreach to reimagine this section of the trail as a linear park and public space. In keeping with the recommendations from the public, the improvements include seating, designated spaces for food trucks/vendors, pop-up spaces, and recreational amenities. This project is grant funded by the Recreational Trails Program, an assistant program of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (RTP -175160), the Greenway Conservancy for the Hudson River Valley Inc. (2018-A-01) and State and Municipal Grant from Pat Fahy's Office and John McDonald's Office.
